Hi! I am filling in for Swampgrrl here at Create a Connection's Photo Thursday.
We bought our house almost 6 years ago. We were engaged, but thought children were way down the line for us...we (at least I was) not even sure we wanted to have children of our own. A month after we got married I got pregnant. (I will spare you all the details, but yes it is true that if you are on an antibiotic and taking birth control you can get pregnant if you don't use a back up method!)
With two children and one income there is little time or money to do all the things to make this house the home that I had once envisioned. Actually I envisioned this as a "starter home" until...I don't know what, but it looks like we will be here awhile.
I know what I like, but I am not into executing decorating. Fortunately Sean, my husband, works for HomeGoods and likes decorating. The trouble is I don't feel like our home represents me. Some of that I can't change, like the architecture, but I know there are some things I can do.
Inspire me Please!
Share pictures of what you love about your living space or pictures of your home style on your blog or in flickr and leave your link in the comment section.
Sean bought home something recently for Maggie's room that I love, that I feel really represents my style!
I will share it on my blog.
Even though I didn't plan on being a Stay at Home Mama of two, I love my life and a huge reason why is because of all the connections I have made through blogging! :)
Thank you!
XOXO,
It took me about 5 minutes to write this post and then I spent the next hour trying to find a recent clear picture of the three of us (or at least Ethan and Maggie) where we are looking at the camera. But I couldn't find any! I never realized before just how many pictures I take of random objects and how many pictures I take of myself! I need to do some serious photo deleting some day soon. Finally I decided I had to pick two pictures that were the most recent and just press post!
From this past Saturday:
Ethan on his cousin's motor bike and a picture of Maggie taken by my 7 year old niece.

Mine's finally up:

I've been thinking a lot about my living space lately also. I've been dreaming and trying to VISUALIZE the home that I want. Currently we're renting, but we are really ready to own a home again now that we've decided that we want to stay in this locale. I've been thinking about putting a post together with all those little details that I've been dreaming about. I'll leave a link when I actually do it! :) I love this request for ideas and am looking forward to seeing what other people share also!

We are in our "starter home" 20 years later.... and as small as it has felt at times, 1300 square feet is plenty of room for 4 people. It's actually better now that the kids are almost grown and they don't make quite so much mess. ;^)
A house is just a house - home is a state of mind.
