It has been fun being your hostess this week on justBeConnected!
In closing, I have a few thoughts... I often look at life as the glass is half full. I may not go on a lot of vacations in the near future, have new furniture, or the newest gadgets, but my life will be filled with love and happiness.
Additionally, do you ever look back on a day, a week, a month, or a year and try to learn lessons from those days? I often do. So, these are my lessons from this week:
- Get your annual flu shot. Okay, so I never have gotten a flu shot and I have never had the flu before until this past week.
- Be prepared. I was glad that I had already jotted down some ideas for this week's hostess event otherwise I would have been stumped between my splitting headache and the sweltering fever.
- Be happy to step aside and accept help (at times). Thankfully, we had my parents in town to help with the kiddos' birthday - make cakes, wrap presents, take them to toddler gymnastics... all the things that a mom would want to do when she doesn't have a fever.
On my blog, I rarely talk about some of the difficult times in life. Why? Mainly because I just don't tell a lot of people about that... However, I read a post yesterday and realized maybe you want to know more... and not just the warm fuzzies about life. So, here are five things I haven't told many people (and now they are on the web for all to see - yikes!)
- I struggled with infertility for 2 years and it sucked! To learn more about infertility go to Resolve.
- Pregnancy discrimination is real and it is a horrible situation to have to put up with!
- I am divorced... my hubby is my second husband and it was worth the journey!
- The doctor was right... magnesium sulfate really does feel like an 18-wheeler just ran you over. (Magnesium Sulfate is given via IV and is used in extreme cases to treat pre-term labor.)
- It is scary to have to see your 6 month old baby go through an ultrasound, CT Scan, and an MRI. (Luckily, what the doctors thought was wrong, wasn't.)
My life isn't all roses, but I also know I have a lot to be thankful for, which gets me to my final challenge...
My final challenge to you is to create a piece through photos, art, or written word stating what you are grateful for.
Be sure to post your link in the comments.
Thank you, again, to Melba for allowing me this opportunity to be your hostess this week!
Also, be sure to check out Melba's other blog... justBeBrave. "justBeBrave is a home created for indie artists to share their experiences, a place for indie artist to promote themselves and a resource of links for indie artists."

I love reading lists of people's "I'm am grateful for...." things! Did one of my own right before we moved back in November -- a list of 100 things I'm grateful for :) Thanks for your week of hosting, Shelley!
